Diplomacy with children
This is not the usual sort of 'travelogue' type of post...
I've been following the case of Zahra Kazemi since she was murdered last year in Tehran. The trial seems to speak volumes about the entire Iranian regime -- first the Canadian ambassador was banned from the trial, then he was allowed to attend. The next day the judge barred him, claiming he didn't know he was there the previous day.
I have all the sympathy in the world for Philip MacKinnon and Bill Graham for having to deal with these goofs.
The ambassador is leaving...I'm no diplomat but I see no reason why he should go back anytime soon.
